Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Better Horoscope ("we", "us") collects when you use the Better Horoscope website at betterhoroscope.com and the Better Horoscope app for Android and iPhone, how we use it, and the choices you have. Better Horoscope is an independently operated app and website. The website has accounts; the app does not, and keeps what you tell it on your phone.

In the app

• No account and no sign-in. Your date of birth, your time and city of birth if you give them, your reminder settings, and the thumbs-up and thumbs-down ratings you leave are stored only on your phone. The app never sends them to us.
• Downloading readings: when the app fetches new readings from our server, it sends nothing about you.
• Reminders: the daily reminder is scheduled on your phone.
• An advertising identifier: the app shows ads through Google AdMob, which uses your device's advertising ID — on iPhone, only if you allow the app to track you when it asks. See "Advertising" below.

On the website

• Account information: when you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, first name, and Google account ID. We never receive your Google password.
• Your date of birth: it determines your zodiac sign and is the basis of your biorhythms.
• Your time of birth and city of birth, if you give them: optional. We store the city and country you choose and the city's time zone. Both are kept for astrological detail.
• Feedback: the thumbs-up and thumbs-down ratings you leave on horoscopes.
• Reminder settings: whether a daily reminder is on, and at what time. If you turn reminders on, your browser's push subscription is stored on our server so the reminder can be delivered.

The website stores these on the Better Horoscope server, with your account.

Messages you send us

If you use the contact form, in the app or on the website, we receive the name, email address and message you enter, so we can reply. Messages from the app also include the app's version number. They are delivered to our support inbox.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or files. The app asks for no permission to access any of those.

How we use your information

• Show you the horoscopes for your zodiac sign
• Calculate your biorhythms and zodiac compatibility
• Send the daily reminder you asked for
• Improve horoscope content using aggregated feedback ratings from the website
• Reply to messages you send us

Advertising

The website does not show advertising. The app shows full-screen ads from Google AdMob between sections.

Google acts as an independent controller for the ads it serves, and may use your device's advertising ID to choose them. Google explains how at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before showing personalized ads. Wherever you live, you can change your choice at any time from Settings → Ad privacy options in the app. Declining personalized ads does not remove ads; it means they are not chosen using your advertising ID. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings, under Privacy. On iPhone, the app asks whether it may track you before ads can use your advertising identifier, and you can change your answer at any time in the iPhone's Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Third-party services

• Google Sign-In: used to sign in to the website. The app does not use it.
• Google AdMob: shows ads in the app, as described above.
• Google Analytics: used on the website to understand aggregate usage, with cookies described in our Cookie Policy. The app does not use Google Analytics.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers beyond the AdMob advertising described above.

Data retention

We keep your website account, profile, and ratings for as long as you keep your account. Everything the app stores stays on your phone until you uninstall the app or clear its storage.

Deleting your information

In the app: uninstalling the app, or on Android clearing its storage in your phone's settings, removes everything it stored. The app keeps nothing about you on our server.

On the website: you can delete your account at any time at betterhoroscope.com/delete-account-web. This permanently removes your profile, your date of birth, and your ratings.

You can also ask us to delete your account or a message you sent through our contact form.

Your choices and rights

• Change your date of birth, time and city of birth, and reminder settings at any time from Settings
• Change your advertising choice from Settings → Ad privacy options in the app
• Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. Contact us and we will act on it.

Children's privacy

Better Horoscope is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We will change the "Last updated" date above when we do.
